Suspicious killing of a prominent medical doctor

According to recent reports, a prominent medical doctor was suspiciously shot dead last week. Dr. Abdolreza Sudbakhsh, an infectious diseases specialists and a university lecturer, was shot by gunmen on motorcycles in Tehran, as he was leaving his clinic for the day.
Opposition websites report that Dr. Sudbakhsh had been one of the physicians at Kahrizak detention centre, where at least three post-election protesters died from torture and ill-treatment. The reports further claim that Dr. Sudbakhsh was killed one day before he was to leave Iran.
Other mysterious killings of doctors, Dr. Gholamreza Sarabi , last week, and Dr. Ramin Pourandarjani, last November, have raised suspicions that the killings of these physicians are politically motivated. Student and opposition groups claim that the killing of Dr. Sudbakhsh was an attempt by the Iranian government to cover up the horrific stories about torture, ill-treatment and false diagnoses coming from Kahrizak detention centre, which Dr Sudbakhsh would have revealed once he had left Iran.
